Silver Eucalyptus Diptych (Two 24 x 18" cyanotypes)
A pair of two 18 × 24 inch original cyanotypes, unique monotypes on paper.
If they are matted and framed to 30 × 24” each, they will span more than 4 feet horizontally.
Though these resemble block prints they are not. These are cyanotypes, a kind of lensless photography dating back to the 1800s, but I have experimented with the chemical recipe to alter the blue color.
As with my other blue cyanotypes, all are one-of-a kind monotypes made using the shadows of freshly cut living plants. There is no etched metal plate nor carved wooden block to make a second identical print.
