The varying shades of blue and pattern were made by cutting up and reassembling hand-printed botanical cyanotype prints from plants in my own garden. The same exact fern was printed repeatedly in different hues of the same blue by varying the seconds of exposure to light.
The 1.5-inch deep sides of the wood panel are painted white, making it ready to go on the wall without framing. There is a hanging wire on the back.
This is one of a pair of identical sized blue and white square collages on wood panel that work very well together as a diptych. This and the other, Shades of Blue 2, could be hung as a vertical diptych one above the other on a narrow wall or side by side.
